This is a story set in 2012. I was 16 and falling for a girl who would, after a decade of coming together and falling apart, eventually become my partner; and Frank Ocean had just released Channel Orange, an album which would play an influential role in my own musical journey. This song entwines both tales together: a nostalgic look back at a sun-dappled time of romantic and musical discovery ('Orange on the radio, summer in our cells, nearly a decade ago when I first fell, Channel Orange on the radio') told over a lush backdrop of acoustic guitars, RnB drums and layered vocals. Frank Ocean fans will also enjoy the many lyrical Easter Eggs dropped throughout the tune, from Thinkin Bout You to Sweet Life and more!
